Flipping a coin and rolling a six-sided die
Drawing a card from a deck and then drawing another card without replacing the first
The weather tomorrow and the day after tomorrow.

Independent events are those where the occurrence of one does not affect the probability of the other. The first is a simple example of this. Weather tomorrow can affect the weather the following day, and the coin flip example assumes each flip is independent.
